Is Fertility PT only for people trying to get pregnant?

No, and this is the most common misconception about our name. “Fertility” reflects Joanna’s specialized Pelvic Rehab Fertility Specialist (PRFS) certification, one advanced layer on top of her broader pelvic floor physical therapy training, not a narrow focus on active family planning. Pelvic and fertility health span your whole life: menstrual cycle-related pain, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and the pelvic floor and bladder changes that come with perimenopause and menopause are all part of it. Whether or not having a baby is part of your story right now, in the past, or ever, if you have a pelvic floor, this practice treats the concerns you’re actually having.

Does Fertility PT accept insurance?

Accepted Answer

Fertility PT is a cash-based, out-of-network practice, which means sessions are longer, more comprehensive, and not limited by insurance company visit caps. A superbill is provided after each visit, which you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. HSA, FSA, cash, credit, and check are all accepted. Due to federal regulations, Medicare beneficiaries are not eligible for cash-based physical therapy services.

Isn’t paying cash more expensive than using my insurance?

Often the opposite. Many insurance plans carry high deductibles and copays for physical therapy, and pelvic floor and fertility-focused care can take a number of visits to see results, meaning those costs add up before a plan’s benefits fully kick in. Fertility PT’s cash-pay rate is frequently lower than what patients end up paying out of pocket toward a deductible or copay through an in-network provider, and since visits aren’t capped or gated by insurance authorization, care isn’t delayed waiting on approvals. A superbill is provided for every visit so you can still pursue out-of-network reimbursement if your plan offers it.

What is a superbill, and how does reimbursement work?

A superbill is an itemized receipt of your visit, including diagnosis and treatment codes, that you submit directly to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Whether and how much is reimbursed depends entirely on your individual out-of-network benefits, so it’s worth calling your insurance provider to ask about out-of-network physical therapy coverage before your first visit.

Will I see the same physical therapist at every visit?

Yes. Fertility PT is a solo practice, so every session, from your first visit through ongoing care, is one-on-one with Joanna Pavlak, PT, DPT, PRFS. You won’t be passed between providers or aides.

Fertility PT is located at 2841 Riviera Dr, Ste 301, Fairlawn, OH 44333, on the second floor of Altitude Social House, upstairs from Rogue Awakening Yoga Studio. On-site child watch is available at Altitude Social House (fees apply) if you need childcare during your appointment.

Our Fairlawn clinic regularly sees patients from across Northeast Ohio, including Akron, Copley, Bath, Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, Solon, Shaker Heights, and Chagrin Falls, plus other communities across Summit, Cuyahoga, Medina, and Portage counties, along with patients traveling in from Cleveland and Youngstown. All visits are in-person and one-on-one, so wherever you’re coming from, sessions are scheduled around your drive.

Is dry needling a separate service?

Dry needling is included with any physical therapy visit where appropriate, at no extra cost. Standalone dry needling visits and monthly dry needling memberships are also available at a discounted rate. Ask about current options when you book.
